International cooperation

International activities of the university are coordinated by the Office for International Cooperation and the Virtual Institute of the Bologna Process.

The Department for International Cooperation was established in 2008, is working to develop foreign relations with foreign universities, scientific and medical centers, pharmaceutical organizations in the priority areas of the development of education and public health of the country in accordance with the strategic objectives of developing international cooperation of the university.

              Goals, tasks, functions, main activities of the joint venture.

The main goal of the management is to integrate the university into the international academic space, increase the University’s competitiveness in the world market of educational services, promote the quality of educational, clinical and scientific activities at the level of modern world requirements in partnership with the world’s leading universities.

The main tasks of the department are the identification of priority areas for international cooperation, the long-term planning of international relations of the university with foreign partners from among the TOP 500 world rankings, the search and selection of partners for establishing contacts in the field of education, clinics and science, organizational and informational support of the university’s activities in the field of international cooperation , propaganda of scientific, educational and clinical activities of the University among potential cuts zhnyh partners, the implementation of negotiations with potential and existing foreign experts, monitors the implementation of the international activities of the University, to ensure effective co-operation with the International Association KazNMU.

International activities of Asfendiyarov KazNMU  is aimed at strengthening the reputation, internationalization of education and further integration into the world educational and scientific community.

Asfendiyarov KazNMU carries out international cooperation in the framework of an agreement with leading foreign universities, implements international joint educational programs, carries out joint research activities, organizes international scientific and practical seminars and conferences, conducts academic exchange of trained staff and teachers, and attracts visiting business professors .

Asfendiyarov KazNMU carries out international cooperation within the framework of signed agreements, agreements and memorandums with leading foreign universities of North America -10, Europe-47, Asia-Pacific region- 14, Middle East-1, CIS and Baltic countries-36.

Asfendiyarov KazNMU, international treaties, agreements and memoranda were signed with 108 universities from 27 countries of the world, of which 21 universities are included in the world ranking of QSWUR universities. The Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan has united Medical Universities to develop an action plan for capacity building in the field of medical education, primary health care and continuous professional development through a mutual strategic partnership with the University of Dundee, United Kingdom. In July 2014, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the University of Dundee and medical universities in Kazakhstan. The signing of this Memorandum includes areas of cooperation: promotion of international best practices in research and teaching in the field of medical education and training of general practitioners; development and implementation of joint educational programs and scientific projects; the development of academic mobility in order to achieve high standards of quality of medical education.

Within the framework of the Memorandum signed in October 2014, the heads of the Ministry of Health and Medical Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the country to get acquainted with the national system of medical education and training of healthcare professionals and discuss partnerships with the College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing of the University of Dundee, map on strategic partnership in the field of medical education.

Professor Jean S. Kehr, Deputy Dean for Innovations in Medical Education at the University of Dundee, took part in the international scientific and practical conference «Days of the University of 2014» within the framework of the strategic partnership and conducted training for teachers in medical education based on competence in December 2014. Professor D.Ker, on the basis of KazNMU in February 2015, with the support of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, conducted a master class «Determining the needs of primary health care in Kazakhstan: training general practitioners» with the participation of 50 general practitioners, researchers, administrative staff, teachers of primary health care and nurses from 13 regions of the Republic.

Training of KazNMU employees at Dundee University on the issues of studying the features of the organization of academic baccalaureate in medical specialties, studying integrated programs for continuing medical education, improving the competence of teachers implementing training programs at medical faculties, getting acquainted with the best practice in clinical training of students, forming educational programs for doctors general practice took place in May 2015.

Within the framework of the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between KazNMU and Southampton University, the leaders of KazNMU visited the country to work out and agree on a joint work program on joint promotion of research activities, personnel development programs and training of nurses and public health in March 2015.

In order to develop cooperation in the field of improving and developing the national education system, the science and practice of clinical training of doctors, the development of the academic exchange in the field of education, science and practice, and the development of nursing education and clinical training of doctors on educational programs, the Cooperation Agreement between the Office Almaty, the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and the International Center of the Medical Center of the University of Kengkhi, South Korea. Within the framework of the signed agreement 8 employees of the Department of Endocrinology under the guidance of Professor Abylayuly Zh.A. were trained at the university clinic of the University of Kenghi.

Within the framework of the signed cooperation agreement between KazNMU and Taipei Medical University (TMU), Taiwan, the leaders and employees of KazNMU visited TMU to participate in a joint event, share experiences and best practice in developing a medical university and internationally recognize the experience of entering TMU in the rating QSWUR.

Meetings and discussions were held with the rector of the Taipei Medical University and with the leaders: the Ministry of Education and Health and Social Welfare of Taiwan, the National Insurance System, the MJHealthManagementConsultant Co., a preventive medicine company, the Environmental Protection Agency.
