Department of Pharmacy

The Educational Department of Pharmacy was established in September 2010. The Educational Department of Pharmacy coordinates the teaching, methodological and practical-organizational support of the learning process and the improvement of the quality of educational services at the departments on the basis of a competence-oriented approach.

  1. Aims, tasks, basic directions of activity:

Aims, tasks, jurisdictions, teaching results, the methods of estimation and teaching of the educational program on pharmacy are regulated by the new State obligatory standard of bachelor on pharmaceutical specialty Order No.661  from 29.07.2016 «About alteration and additions in the order of MHSR Republic of Kazakhstan from 31st of July 2015 No.647 «On approval of state compulsory standards and standard professional training programs in medical and pharmaceutical specialties». On the specialty «Technology of pharmaceutical production» approved a new state obligatory standard for the specialty «Technology of pharmaceutical production» Order No.425 MES of RK from 05.07.2016 year. The educational process on the specialty is aimed at the formation of key jurisdictions according to the Dublin descriptors as: knowledge and understanding, application of knowledge and understanding, formation of judgments, learning skills or ability to study, communicative abilities.

On the base of new State Obligatory Bachelor Standards for Pharmaceutical Specialties in the academic year 2017-18, educational programs have been developed and approved in accordance with the Dublin descriptors.

Educational programs are implemented within the framework of the internal regulatory documents of the KazNMU: Regulations on Methodological Work, Regulations on Practice, etc. The educational program for the specialty «Pharmacy» provides for the integration of the taught disciplines horizontally, as well as vertically within the framework of modular training. So, from 2016-17, four directions of training in the specialty «Pharmacy» have been formed and are being implemented: pharmacist-manager, clinical pharmacist, pharmacist-technologist and toxicology- chemist at three levels of training as bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and PhD doctoral studies.

The direction of training «Clinical Pharmacist» is relevant and timely due to the expansion of the list of specialties (Order No. 1036 Amendments and Additions to Order No. 774 of the Ministry of Health of the RK «On Approval of the Nomenclature of Medical and Pharmaceutical Specialties of Posts») and is introduced into the educational process by forming a component of choice from number of the following disciplines: «Fundamentals of Clinical Pharmacy», «National Formulary System of Medicines», «Side Effects and Interaction of Medicines», «Fundamentals of Pharmacoeconomy «, etc. (WEP). Also, on the proposals of the employers of the National Center for Expertise of Medicines, Medical Devices and Medical Equipment, in response to a request for the need to introduce the basic provisions of pharmacovigilance, disciplines were included in the educational program «Good Pharmacovigilance Practices», «Pharmacovigilance of medicines, medical devices and medical equipment» and etc.

KazNMU carries out professional training of the specialty «Pharmacy» in state, Russian and English languages in full-time form of education, the content of which corresponds to the mission of the university and meets the needs of the labor market.

From the academic year 2017-18, the implementation of training in reduced educational programs on the basis of higher and technical vocational education began with the elements of distance learning technology for the IWST and IWS. The terms of training range from 2.5 to 3.5 years, depending on the basic education. Developed on the basis of GOSO special. «Pharmacy» in several areas: on the basis of related specialties (medical, chemical-technological, biological) and other higher education, as well as on the basis of technical and vocational education.

In order to achieve the goals of the educational program, a number of activities are being carried out at KazNMU: introduction of modern active methods of teaching and educational technologies and monitoring of their implementation by the educational department and the committee of educational programs of pharmacy. During the reporting period, more than 50 teaching aids were introduced into the educational process, including 3 electronic teaching aids on the disciplines of the chemical-pharmaceutical department and department of technology of medicines and engineering disciplines.

 

 

In the academic year 2017-18, on the basis of the State Educational Standard and Educational Program, standard curricula were developed for the disciplines of the mandatory component by the staff of the SKFA, and their reviewers were the staff of the departments of the School of Pharmacy.

The methods of training in KazNMU correspond to the content and final results of the training, promote active learning of students, develop the ability to take responsibility for the learning process and determine their needs, to promote student learning throughout life. Evaluation methods allow to evaluate objectively the competencies of students, contribute to the formation of knowledge, judgments, practical, communicative skills, self-development. Methods of teaching and evaluation are reflected in the syllabuses according to disciplines and to the Regulations on methodical work.

To identify the request of employers during the academic year, a job fair and a round table with employers and representatives of professional Associations NA are held. Gunko — Ph.D., Director of the Association of Pharmaceutical Distributors of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M.I. Durmanova — President of the Association for Support and Development of Pharmaceutical Activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during which a survey of representatives of practical pharmacy on cooperation in the scientific and educational process, the introduction of dual training, development and implementation of new elective disciplines in the areas of training.

In the 2016-17 academic year, a joint educational program with elements of distance learning technologies «More than Education» was launched, within the framework of which organized video lectures of the foreign pharmaceutical company Pfizer for the teaching staff and students on topical issues of pharmacy.

The joint educational program is developed in accordance with the requirements of the State Obligatory Standard on the specialty «Technology of pharmaceutical production» Order No. 425 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 05.07. 2016, developed on the basis of Order No. 292 of May 13, 2016. Additions and changes to the Government Decree of August 23, 2012 No. 1080 — GOSO Higher Education. Bachelor. The main provisions, as well as the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education (FSES HPE), approved by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of August 11, 2016 No. 1005 on the basis of the recommended exemplary educational program.

The purpose of the joint educational program is to create conditions for the fundamental and practical orientation of training specialists based on international standards, domestic traditions of higher pharmaceutical education and ensuring the competitiveness of graduates of partner universities on the international labor market, to implement lifelong education that is maximally oriented towards the needs of society and the state.

The international cooperation:

Teachers of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Technology of Pharmaceutical Production participated in the program «Visiting Professors» with lectures, master classes for students of foreign universities (Dr.Sc., Associate Professor Sakipova ZB, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Dathaev U .M., Ph.D., Professor Shopabaeva AR) and underwent a scientific internship in the «Bolashak» program (D.Pharm.H, Associate Professor Ustenova GO, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Boshkaeva AK, Ph.D., associate professor Sayakova G.M.). In the period from 2011 to 2017, the pharmaceutical faculty was visited with lectures by more than 65 foreign specialists, scientists from 16 countries of the USA, Europe, Southeast Asia and the CIS. In the staff of the departments of the faculty there were 6 foreign scientists from the CIS countries.

The program of trilingualism, training through research, dual training is actively introduced at the pharmaceutical faculty, which consists of conducting guest lectures of the leading specialists of practical pharmacy, field trips to the pharmaceutical profile bases, including on-site training (Zhaik-Ac LTD pharmacy No. 56 , LTD «Phytoleum», National Center for Expertise of Medicines, Medical Devices and Medical Equipment», etc.)

Dual education at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology

Dual education is implemented in several stages:

Stage 1 — conducting «guest lectures»;

Stage 2 — conducting field classes at the medical and pharmaceutical fields;

Stage 3 — conducting 50-70% of classes on the bases of the medical and pharmaceutical profession by the employers who are part-time employees for the modules and departments of the university;

Stage 4 — students from 1 to 5 courses with the appointment of scholarships, providing practical and further employment.

Dual education is widely introduced at the pharmaceutical faculty. So, to update the training at the Pharmaceutical Faculty, a number of activities are planned, in particular, conducting professorial readings with the involvement of leading industry specialists, duo lectures conducted by two specialists at the same time: a faculty teacher and an invited specialist from the practical sector for students of 4.5 years of special courses. «Pharmacy» and «Technology of pharmaceutical production»

For students of the Faculty of Pharmacy for a number of compulsory and elective disciplines, classes are conducted at the bases of the pharmaceutical profile:
